Where the work is
A large share of our Northolt Park bookings are on the Racecourse Estate, built between 1951 and 1955 on the old Northolt Park pony-racing course, with roads named after courses that were running at the time. A technician parks up on Doncaster Drive, Kempton Avenue or Epsom Close and the pattern is much the same across those houses: a freestanding cooker or a fitted single oven, thirty-odd years of use, a fair bit of baked-on grease under the door seal. Nearer Northolt Park station at Cadogan Close, which Chiltern Railways runs on the line out to High Wycombe, you get more of the 1930s private semis toward the Harrow border. How we clean it
Shelves, trays and side runners lift out and soak in a heated dip tank in the van. Inside the flat, the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products, so no chemical smell is left behind. We split the door to reach the inner pane where the build allows. The oven is heat-tested and signed off before the technician leaves. A single runs about ninety minutes, a double closer to two hours.

My oven is very old, can it still be cleaned?
Usually, yes. A lot of the estate ovens are decades old and the dip-tank method lifts baked-on grease that spray cleaners cannot. If a part is genuinely broken we will tell you rather than force it.
Will the kitchen smell of chemicals after?
No. The caustic soak stays sealed inside the tank in the van. The hand work indoors uses non-caustic products, so there is no lingering smell.
How long does it take?
Around ninety minutes for a single oven and about two hours for a double. Just leave the cooker accessible.
