The ward takes in most of the northern half of Northolt, so nearly everything we do sits either side of the old pony racecourse. The Racecourse Estate went up between 1951 and 1955, and those kitchens are still small: a 60cm freestanding cooker wedged between two units, or a single Zanussi or Indesit under the worktop. Selective licensing changed what lands in the diary
Ealing's second selective licensing designation came into force on 3 January 2023 and runs to 2 January 2028, and Northolt Mandeville is one of the wards inside it, which is why a fair share of the calls off Mandeville Road now come from letting agents rather than from the people who actually live in the house. Zone NS and Zone QQ run on different clocks
Zone NS, around Northolt station on the Central line, is controlled Monday to Friday from 9am to 10am and again from 2pm to 3pm. Zone QQ is Monday to Sunday, 9am to 9pm. Two zones, two clocks. It matters because the racks have to be carried out to the van, so we would rather park on your road than three streets away. When controls went in west of Mandeville Road the displaced cars had to go somewhere, usually the bit of kerb we wanted.

Do I have to stay in for the whole clean?
No, but someone should be there at the start and the end. A single takes about ninety minutes, a double nearer two hours.
Can I use the oven the same evening?
Yes. It is heat-tested before we leave, and the indoor work is non-caustic, so there is no smell to burn off first.
Do you come out to the Racecourse Estate at weekends?
Seven days a week, yes. Weekend slots off Petts Hill go early in the week.
