Lammas Park, on the east side of the proposed Northfields conservation area, was set aside in 1881 for public recreation, and the Northfields Allotments at the north end are, in Ealing's words, the oldest allotments still in use in London.
Edwardian terraces off Northfield Avenue
Northfield Avenue was North Field Lane, and most of the streets off it were laid out in a grid and built quickly in the Edwardian years, as terraces for working and middle-class families. Ealing's 2023 appraisal for a proposed Northfields conservation area says the layout is almost completely intact. The proposed area takes in Salisbury Road, Balfour Road and Northfield Road, Leybourne Avenue and Elers Road towards Lammas Park, and runs down to the 18th-century houses of Little Ealing at the south end. Along the avenue itself are Edwardian shop parades. The council had identified a Heritage Quarter over much of the same area in 2008 and restored its cast-iron lamp columns.
The census shows terraced streets, mostly owned. In the small area around Northfield Road (ONS area Ealing 032C), 58.4% of households lived in a terraced house in 2021 and 58.7% owned their home. Northfield ward, which takes in the station end, had the highest share of owner-occupiers of Ealing's 24 wards, 63.7%.
Family terraces of this age are often extended into the side return or knocked through at the back, and a bigger kitchen can mean a built-in double in a tall unit, or a range cooker.

Three parking zones along Northfield Avenue
Ealing splits the area between three zones, each with two short controlled hours, according to its zone pages. Northfield Road, Salisbury Road and Balfour Road are in Zone GG, controlled from 10am to 11am and 2pm to 3pm on weekdays. Elers Road, Leybourne Avenue and Culmington Road are in Zone JJ, Ealing Dean, 10am to 11am and 3pm to 4pm on weekdays. The streets at the station end, such as Blondin Avenue, Niagara Avenue and Ridley Avenue, are in Zone N, controlled from 9am to 10am and 3pm to 4pm, Monday to Saturday. A single fits in the gap between the morning and afternoon hours in all three. The council adds that other restrictions are posted on the street, so check your signs.

Both. The postcode line runs through it: Ridley Avenue and Elers Road are W13, while Blondin Avenue, Niagara Avenue and Little Ealing Lane are W5.
Do you clean 90cm range cookers?
Yes, at £143. The shelves and trays come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavities, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors. A 90cm range takes 2 to 3 hours.
Is a Saturday possible in Zone N?
Yes. We work weekends at the weekday price. Zone N's Saturday hours are the same two hours as on weekdays, so a late-morning start avoids both.
Do you also cover West Ealing and South Ealing?
Yes. West Ealing is just north, and South Ealing is the next Piccadilly line station east.
