London Oven Cleaners clean ovens in North Watford from £77. Before we pack up the oven is lit, you inspect it, and a missed corner gets put right on the spot.
Watford council's 2011 character study records that one barn of Callowland Farm survives on Cecil Street. The area around it was mostly farmland before it was built up, largely between 1890 and 1910, with terraces along and between St Albans Road and Leavesden Road.
Terraces off St Albans Road
The study calls the area very urban, dominated by long terraces with only modest areas of green space, its northern streets built a little later, between 1900 and 1920. St Albans Road kept its shops, and some people live above them: at the 2021 Census, 100 households in Callowland ward lived in a commercial building, such as a flat over a shop, and 261 in part of a converted or shared house.
A terrace of this age usually has its kitchen in the narrow back addition, with the oven at the end of a galley, and a flat over a shop usually means a staircase between the oven and the street. The removable parts still come out and are soaked and cleaned separately. Upstairs, the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand on dust sheets, and the door is split where its design allows.

Private renting in Callowland ward
Callowland ward had 3,413 households in 2021. Of those, 41.3% rented privately, almost all of them (39.2% of all households) through a landlord or letting agency; half owned their home (50.3%) and 7.9% were social tenants. With four households in ten renting from a private landlord, checkout inventories come round often on these streets, and the oven is one of the things the clerk opens.
The invoice can be made out to the letting agent, photos for the checkout file are taken on request, and keys for an empty flat can be picked up by arrangement. The end of tenancy oven cleaning guide covers deposits.

Zone NA: the hours to plan around
Regent Street, Cecil Street, Judge Street, Diamond Road and Copsewood Road are in Watford's controlled parking zone NA, with long stretches of Leavesden Road and St Albans Road from 134 to 260 on the east side and 155 to 275 on the west. The council's zone page (read on 5 October 2026) gives NA as controlled Monday to Saturday from 8am to 10am and again from 5pm to 10pm, bank holidays included.
It lists no hours between 10am and 5pm or on Sundays, so a single or a double booked for late morning fits inside the gap. Yellow lines and loading bans still apply, so read the plate on your street and give us the road name when you book.
The station that opened as Callowland
Watford North station, by the level crossing on Bushey Mill Lane, opened in about 1910 as Callowland, for workers at the factories going up nearby, and was later renamed. On St Albans Road, Hille House is the office, showroom and factory that Erno Goldfinger designed for the furniture maker Hille, dated 1959. North Watford is usually taken to run up to North Western Avenue, the A41, and sits between the town centre and Garston.
North Watford oven cleaning questions
Can you come on a Saturday?
Yes, at the weekday price. Zone NA is controlled until 10am on a Saturday, so a later start keeps the van clear of it.
My flat is above a shop on St Albans Road. Is that a problem?
No. Tell us the number, the floor, and whether the door is on the main road or round the back, and the visit is planned before we arrive.
Can I cancel if the checkout date moves?
Yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before the visit.
How long does a double oven take?
About two hours, which fits inside the zone's daytime gap. The oven is heated at the end so you can look inside before we leave.

Reviews from our rounds
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Brilliant clean, my oven looks like brand new. A 5 star clean.
Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
