Manor Road is about to change what we clean here
The old Homebase on Manor Road, a 1.4-hectare site beside North Sheen station, has consent for 453 homes in five blocks of four to eleven storeys, 173 of them affordable, drawn by PLP Architecture for Avanton after the Mayor of London took the application off the council in July 2019. We do the same thing already in the newer flats along Lower Richmond Road: fixed door glass, fan cover on one nut, ninety minutes.

The terraces, and what is usually in them
Manor Grove and Sandycombe Road are Victorian terraced cottages, and most housing around TW9 1UR went up before 1900 or between 1900 and 1929. The kitchens sit in galley extensions at the back. What we find is a 60cm built-under double and a hood nobody has touched since the last tenant left. Where a family has knocked through and dropped an island in, a 90cm range appears. Not often. Often enough that we keep the tank space free.

Single, about ninety minutes. Add the hob and the hood to a double oven clean and you are at roughly two and a half hours, which is still one visit and one price.
Do you need a permit to park on Manor Grove?
Between 10am and 4.30pm, Monday to Saturday, yes, or a RingGo session. We sort that ourselves and it does not go on your bill. Slots before ten are simplest, and they go first.
Can you clean the oven before a check-out inventory?
Yes. Plenty of the flats near North Sheen station are lets, so the clean gets timed to the inventory date. The tank never comes indoors: racks, shelves, trays and side runners go out to it, while the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products. You get a dated receipt, and the oven is heat-tested before we leave.
Does a Victorian galley kitchen make this harder?
It makes the carrying longer, not the clean worse. A back extension off Sandycombe Road can sit twenty paces further from the van than a flat on Lower Richmond Road. The price does not move for it.
