Trellick Tower has 217 dwellings over 31 floors, opened on 28 June 1972, and Erno Goldfinger put the lifts in a separate service tower that joins the flats at every third storey rather than at every one. Flats in between are reached by internal stairs off the corridor. That detail is the job here, because oven racks, shelves, trays and side runners travel down to the heated tank in the van and back up again, so the floor number and the lift level are worth mentioning when you book.
Towers, deck access and the streets behind
Lancaster West was designed in 1963 and 1964 by Clifford Wearden and Ted Hollister for the Royal Borough, built between 1967 and 1974, and it runs to over 900 homes in low-rise blocks and deck-access walkways. Council-built stock of that period is generally a compact kitchen with one built-under oven. That is a single oven at £77, about ninety minutes. The converted terraces off Golborne Road and the northern end of Portobello are a different thing, and a refitted kitchen there may carry a 90cm range at £114.
One permit, the whole borough
Kensington and Chelsea does parking differently from its neighbours. The council states that with a resident parking permit you can park in any residents bay in the borough and at any time, unless the bay is suspended, where most London boroughs tie a permit to one zone. Bay hours still vary street by street. None of it changes what you pay, since the price is fixed on the phone with no premium for a W10 or W11 address and no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.

Does the job smell out a flat with no through draught?
It should not. The caustic soaking happens in the tank in the van, and what comes indoors is non-caustic, used by hand on the cavity, the fan cover and the door glass.
Trellick is Grade II* listed. Does that affect anything?
Not for us. The listing, dated 22 December 1998, covers the building fabric. We take the oven apart, not the flat.
How long does a double take?
About two hours. A double is £110 whether it sits in a tower flat or a terrace off Golborne Road, and the oven is heat-tested and signed off before we leave.
Said after the sign-off
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
