In 1635 North Hyde was a 60-acre common north of Heston's open fields, with a medieval farmhouse nearby and a few cottages along the common's edge. The Victoria County History of Middlesex finds not much more there in the early 19th century.
The gunpowder depot on the canal
Then the Board of Ordnance arrived. Fearing for its coastal powder stores during the Napoleonic Wars, it bought 47 acres beside the Grand Junction Canal and began building an inland depot in 1813; the work took four years. There were three magazines, each for 6,800 barrels, with barracks for three officers and fifty soldiers, all inside a loop of canal that let barges come right up to the doors. By 1830 some 42,000 barrels were stored here, and in 1831 the depot closed.
In 1842 a Belgian Catholic order took over the barracks as St Mary's Orphanage for Roman Catholic boys. It became an industrial school in 1914 and closed in 1934, and the buildings were later pulled down. The canal loop served a brickworks into the 1880s and was filled in during the first half of the 20th century.
Houses either side of the borough line
The county history says building at North Hyde kept advancing into the old Heston and Isleworth borough from Norwood, and that the British Airways Staff Housing Society later built an estate of 222 houses and flats on North Hyde Lane for workers at London Airport. Streets in this part of UB2 fall in two boroughs. Stretches of North Hyde Lane, with Penbury Road and Burket Close, are in Hounslow's Heston West ward; a short way north, Gordon Road and Endsleigh Road are in Ealing's Norwood Green ward.

In a semi or a terrace the cooker could be freestanding or a built-in single or double, and the price follows whichever it is. Parking on both sides of the boundary
On the Ealing side, Gordon Road, Endsleigh Road, Witley Gardens and Adelaide Road are in Ealing council's Zone LL, controlled from 8.30am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday. On the Hounslow side, along North Hyde Lane and the roads off it, Hounslow council has an online map of its controlled parking zones for checking an address, and the street signs show any yellow-line rules. The team needs somewhere to park close to the house.

Both. North Hyde Lane and the roads off it are in Hounslow, partly in Heston West ward, but the streets just north, around Gordon Road, are in Ealing. The rest of the Hounslow ward is on our Heston West page, and the Ealing side runs into Norwood Green.
