North Harrow station is on the Metropolitan line. Hooking Green, a name the Victoria County History gives to a spot on the old road from Hatch End to Harrow-on-the-Hill, is now a short road in North Harrow.
1930s semis round the station
The station was rebuilt in 1930, and the open fields between Pinner and Roxeth were covered with houses in the same decade; the Victoria County History counts North Harrow among the entirely new districts there by 1938. The result is a ward of semis. At the 2021 Census North Harrow ward had 3,159 households, and 54.0% of them lived in a semi-detached house, against 10.5% in a detached one and 20.2% in a purpose-built flat. Even beside the station, in the census area round Northumberland Road and Imperial Drive (Harrow 019C), 57.9% were in a semi.
36.6% of the ward's households owned their home outright in 2021, and the council's profile puts 17% of residents over 65, against 15.4% for Harrow. Parking in zones NH1, NH2 and U
North Harrow's shops, about 100 shopfronts in the council's count, are on Pinner Road, Imperial Drive and Station Road, and the side streets round them are short-hours zones on the council's map. Zone NH2, which takes in Northumberland Road and Lancaster Road by the station, is controlled from 10 to 11am on weekdays. Zone NH1, covering the county roads east of the station (Cumberland, Gloucester, Westmorland, Durham, Sussex, Surrey and Somerset Roads among them), adds a second hour, 2 to 3pm. Bedford Road and Rutland Road, further east, are in zone U with the same two hours.
Station Road, Hooking Green and the stretch of Imperial Drive by the shops fell outside every zone in October 2026. A single or a double started at 11am is finished well before 2pm, and weekends have no zone hours at all; the plate at the end of your road is the one to trust.

About two hours. A single is about 90 minutes.
