On 14 September 2026 the company behind Battersea Power Station put its count at more than 2,200 homes built and over 3,000 residents, with 16 of the site's 42 acres still to develop. Gehry Partners' Prospect Place South, about 300 more homes, broke ground that month and is due in 2030.
Kitchens in the Nine Elms towers
Further east, beside the US Embassy, Ballymore lists Embassy Gardens as complete at 1,555 homes; its Sky Pool, a 25m pool, spans two of the buildings. A new-build flat of this kind usually has a built-in single oven, under the worktop or at eye level in a tall unit, in an open-plan kitchen that shares its air with the living room.
The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately. In the kitchen, on dust sheets, the cavity, the fan cover and the door glass are degreased by hand. The door is split where its design allows.
Not everyone here lives in a tower. When the Sleaford Street Health Centre opened on 12 September 2026, Wandsworth Council said it would serve the Patmore, Savona and Carey Gardens estates as well as the newcomers. An estate flat may have a freestanding cooker; the routine is the same.

Some built-in ovens in newer flats have a pyrolytic setting. The two compare like this:

Renting in Nine Elms ward
The 2021 Census counted 2,819 households in Wandsworth's Nine Elms ward. 54.8% rented from a private landlord or letting agency, against 33.7% across the borough, and 7.6% were buying a share of their home through shared ownership; the borough figure was 1.8%. Many towers have filled since, so take the numbers as a 2021 snapshot.

Parking for the van at a Nine Elms block
Wandsworth's parking pages say new housing developments "are often excluded" from a controlled zone, so new flats may not qualify for on-street permits. The council's parking controls search shows how patchy it is. Sleaford Street is in zone B8 with no eligible properties on either side. Nine Elms Lane and Kirtling Street are not returned at all. Round the Savona and Patmore estates, Thessaly Road and Ascalon Street are B8 streets, controlled 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday with a four-hour maximum stay, yet the stretch of Savona Street the search lists (even numbers 4 to 16) is controlled until 10pm every day.
So the street sign decides. In a tower, ask the concierge or building manager before the day whether contractors use a loading bay or book the lift, and tell us the building name when you call.

Is a built-in oven in a new flat the normal single price?
Yes, £77. A built-in double is £110, and a microwave is £22 on top if you want it done at the same visit.
Can the hob and extractor be cleaned at the same time?
Yes. A single oven, hob and extractor together are £117; with a double oven it is £143.
Do I need to be in?
Ideally, so you can look at the lit oven before we pack up. For an empty flat between tenants, keys can be collected from the agent by arrangement.
