Building started here in 1967, on green belt, from nothing, to a Span Developments plan drawn by the architect Eric Lyons. Span drew it, Bovis finished it
The Greater London Council was to take 450 homes for rent and dropped out when its leadership changed hands, some lenders would not write mortgages against designs they thought unconventional, and Span sold to Bovis Homes in 1971 for £2.65 million, after which density went up and the design ambition came down. Punch Croft and Over Minnis are original Span. The stock is late-1960s and 1970s nearly throughout rather than mixed period, so built-under single ovens in compact kitchens are the pattern, with newer models dropped into the same housings. Do you need to get into my garage?
Only if that is where you want the van. We work at the oven, indoors. The garage matters for standing, nothing else.
Does the Association have to approve this?
No. The covenants govern the outside of the house and its colour scheme. Cleaning the inside of your oven alters nothing they cover.
Is the method safe for a self-cleaning liner?
Yes. The cavity is degreased by hand with non-caustic products, which is what those liners need. Tell us they are fitted anyway.
