The A406 North Circular cuts Neasden roughly in half, residential streets on the east, the Brent Park retail sheds and the depot on the west, so we plan the day around which side a job sits on rather than the mile of dual carriageway between them. Most homes here are 1930s semis with pebbledash and bay fronts, put up when the Metropolitan Railway arrived. Double ovens in the family semis
The bigger semis around the Temple, the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir off Brentfield Road, tend to be family homes with a lot of cooking going on, so the double oven is the common booking. Heavy use means baked-on grease on the fan cover and runners, which is exactly what the tank soak handles best. Is there a smell after cleaning a freestanding cooker in a small kitchen?
No. The strong soaking is done in the tank in the van. Everything done indoors uses non-caustic products, so the kitchen is fine to use the same day.
Can you clean the hob and extractor at the same visit?
Yes, and most people book them together. A hob is £23–28 and an extractor hood is £28 on top of the oven.
My oven has not been touched in years. Can you still get it clean?
Usually, yes. Years of build-up is the normal case, not the exception. The removable parts soak until the carbon lifts, and the door glass splits so we can reach the film between the panes.
