Nascot Wood ovens cleaned from £77 by London Oven Cleaners, price agreed by phone. At the end the oven is heated, you check it, and anything missed is redone before we go.

Nascot Wood Road was laid out across farmland and woodland in the late nineteenth century, when a small number of large detached houses went up in the area. The council's 2011 survey still found nineteenth-century lodges on the road.

Detached houses among the trees

The same study traces the rest. More houses followed on Hempstead Road, Ridge Lane and Nascot Wood Road in the early twentieth century, but the area stayed thinly built until the 1950s and 1960s, when much of the remaining woodland and many of the big gardens were filled with cul-de-sacs of standard-design houses. A denser round of estates came in the 1990s. Bromet Close is a 1960s modernist estate of terraced houses in communal green space, with garage blocks.

The 2021 Census area that takes in Nascot Wood Road, Tunnel Wood Road and Bromet Close (the output area named Watford 007A) had 825 households. Of those, 60.2% lived in a detached house and 23.8% in a purpose-built flat; 81.6% owned their home, and 43.9% owned it outright, with no mortgage.

Detached family kitchen with a 90cm range cooker

A detached family house of the 1950s, 1960s or 1990s often has room for a built-in double oven or a 90cm range under a chimney hood, with the hob alongside. That makes it worth doing the hob and the extractor at the same visit as the oven.

Drives and narrow cul-de-sacs

Watford's zone D covers Nascot Road, Stamford Road and part of Langley Road, and stops short of Nascot Wood: none of Nascot Wood Road, Ridge Lane, Tunnel Wood Road or Bromet Close is on any of the council's zone lists (read on 5 October 2026). The study notes the houses here mostly have garages and front drives, the cul-de-sacs are narrow (about 5m of carriageway) and street parking is limited. If you are happy for the van to sit on the drive, that is the simplest; otherwise tell us the road and we find the nearest legal space. Hempstead Road is the busy one, so read any signs before you suggest it.

The tunnel mouth and Cheslyn House

At the south end of the Watford Tunnels, east of these streets, Robert Stephenson's stone entrance to the original tunnel of the London and Birmingham Railway has been listed Grade II since January 1983. On Nascot Wood Road itself, Cheslyn House dates from 1949 and is owned by the council; its 3.5 acres of gardens and woodland were designed by the architect Henry Colbeck and his wife, Daisy. The Cassiobury estate lies to the west.

Nascot Wood oven cleaning questions

We have a double oven, a gas hob and a chimney hood. Can it all be done at once?

Yes. Oven, hob and extractor together are £143, and the oven is heated at the end so you can inspect it before we leave.

How long does a 90cm range cooker take?

Two to three hours on site, with the racks and trays soaked and cleaned separately while the cavities are done by hand.

How often should the oven be cleaned?

It depends on how much you roast and bake. The guide on how often to clean your oven sets out the signs to look for.

Do you need the oven cool when you arrive?

Yes, cool, with a working socket nearby. Dust sheets go down before anything is taken apart.

Brilliant clean, my oven looks like brand new. A 5 star clean.

Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.

PaulW5

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
