London Oven Cleaners clean ovens across the Mortlake and Barnes Common ward from £77. The oven is put back together and heated, and you look it over before we go.
Between 1850 and 1880 the market gardens of the Westfields area were built over with rows of terraced cottages, laid out as a model housing estate along Charles Street, Thorne Street, Archway Street, Westfields Avenue and the east side of White Hart Lane. Richmond now protects them as the Thorne Passage conservation area.
The Westfields cottages and their footpaths
The cottages are stock brick with shallow slate roofs, and many keep their sash windows. Thorne Passage and Beverley Path follow an old trackway between Mortlake and Putney that the railway cut in two in 1849; the two halves are joined by a pair of late 19th-century tunnels under the line. Cross Street and the east side of White Hart Lane had shops and places of worship, with a school on Railway Side, and many of the commercial buildings have since become homes.
For an oven clean the footpaths are the thing to know. A cottage on Thorne Passage or Beverley Path cannot be reached by van, so the van waits on the nearest street. The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately. A two-storey cottage of this age usually has a small kitchen and a single oven, or a slim freestanding cooker. The cavity, the fan cover and the door glass are degreased by hand indoors, on dust sheets.

Flats, terraces and the Common
The 2022 ward takes in Mortlake High Street by the river, the streets either side of White Hart Lane and the streets round Barnes Common. At the 2021 Census it had 5,227 households.
The Common side is different again. Scarth Road has Victorian Gothic houses, St Mary's Grove is Edwardian, Woodlands Road three-storey semi-detached villas, and Gipsy Lane large Victorian villas on their own gravel road. A bigger house is where a double oven or a 90cm range is more likely, and those take about 2 hours and 2 to 3 hours. More than a quarter of households rent privately, and each tenancy that ends brings a checkout; invoices can go to the letting agency, with photos for the checkout file if the agent asks.

Zone M, zone B2 and the hours that apply
Two zones meet around White Hart Lane, and both are short. The council's 2008 Mortlake order puts Charles Street, Thorne Street, Archway Street, Westfields Avenue, First and Second Avenue and most of White Hart Lane in zone M, controlled 9am to 11am on weekdays. Zone B2, White Hart Lane South, started in March 2019 at 10am to noon on weekdays, and the council's notice gave 27 November 2023 as the start date for an extension to Grosvenor Avenue, Grosvenor Gardens, Sutherland Gardens, Leconfield Avenue, Westwood Road, Westwood Gardens, Avenue Gardens and Upper Richmond Road West. Outside those hours the controls do not apply; inside them the van needs a permit or a paid space. The council's zone list has the current times.

Reviews from our rounds
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
Brilliant clean, my oven looks like brand new. A 5 star clean.
