Oven cleaning around Morden Park from £77 by London Oven Cleaners. The oven is heated once it is back together, you look inside, and we put right anything you point out.

Morden Park House was built in 1770 for John Ewart, a London distiller and merchant, on the highest point of the ridge, and it has held Merton's register office since November 2000.

The park and the old village

Merton and Morden Urban District Council bought the house and park in 1945, and ninety acres were kept as public open space. In the middle, in woodland, is a mound about 40 feet high, a scheduled monument believed to be a Romano-British burial mound, and much of the parkland is a Local Nature Reserve. Morden Leisure Centre opened inside the park in November 2018. Where London Road meets Central Road stand the remains of Upper Morden village: St Lawrence's church of 1636, the Old School House and Church Farm Cottage. The park and the old village lie in the Upper Morden conservation area, about 1 km south-west of Morden town centre.

The Haig Homes on Green Lane and Central Road

Across London Road, between the main road and the Wimbledon to Sutton railway, are the Haig Homes. They followed an appeal launched by the Lord Mayor of London in 1928 for homes for ex-servicemen, their widows and dependants, as a memorial to Field Marshal Earl Haig, and the first part opened in 1931. The houses north of Green Lane were for ex-servicemen and their families; those to the south were built for disabled married officers. Merton's character study credits the design to Grey Wornum.

The homes sit round grassed courtyards with names such as Douglas Square, Alexandra Square, Legion Court and Denmark Court: two-storey brick cottages, some with the upper floor tucked into a steep roof, and three-storey blocks of flats and maisonettes. Haig Housing Trust built 68 more homes on its Morden estate, available for social rent from June 2019.

84.9%of households round Alexandra Square and Legion Court rent from a social landlord (2021)
66.1%live in a purpose-built block of flats

Those two figures are for the Census output area that takes in Alexandra Square, Legion Court, Denmark Court, Hart Square, Lawrence Weaver Close, Rhodes Moorhouse Court and part of Central Road: 141 of its 166 households rented from a housing association or similar landlord in 2021, and 111 households lived in a purpose-built flat. A flat or maisonette kitchen is usually small, so the cooker is most likely a built-in single or a slot-in freestanding model.

The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately. In the kitchen, the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand over dust sheets, and the door is split where its design allows.

Two pockets of 1930s avenues

Merton's study describes two pockets of mostly 1930s housing here: tree-lined avenues of two-storey terraces and semis on Rutland Drive, Rosedene Avenue and Rougemount Avenue. On Rougemount Avenue the houses climb a slope, with steps up to the houses on one side of the road and sloping drives on the other. Hatfeild Mead, by Central Road, is a 1950s group of two- and five-storey blocks.

Parking near Green Lane and Central Road

Central Road is on Merton's April 2026 road list in zones M2 and M3. According to Merton's Morden zones page, M2 runs Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and M3 is for permit holders only, 8.30am to 6.30pm every day. Green Lane, Rutland Drive and Rosedene Avenue are not on the list, so no zone hours apply there; read any signs. For a Haig Homes courtyard, tell us which square or court the door opens onto.

What customers tell us

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.

HelenSW4

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.

JoanaTW13

Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
