Monken Hadley became a conservation area in December 1968, one of the first four in the borough, and what it protects is the Georgian mansions and cottages set around a green. The parish went from Middlesex to Hertfordshire in 1889 and into Greater London in 1965, and it still has Hertfordshire and the London Borough of Enfield along its northern edge, which is roughly the same line the Battle of Barnet was fought across in 1471.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
