The streets round the station
Mitcham Junction sits on Carshalton Road at CR4 4HN, on the bridge over the railway and the tram tracks, with the golf club on one side and Mitcham Common wrapping the rest. The housing near it is mainly 1930s, which is when private estates and council housing filled in this end of Mitcham together, and the kitchens reflect that: freestanding double ovens in the semis, a lot of gas hobs, extractor hoods that have never come off the wall. Toward Fair Green you get Victorian terraces and Edwardian semis, plus flats above the 1930s parades.

Parking, and the Mitcham CPZ hours worth knowing
Merton runs several zones across Mitcham and they do not share hours, which is the bit people get caught by. The MT zone only operates Monday to Friday, 11am to 3pm, a short midday window aimed at commuter parking, whereas MTC nearer the town centre runs Monday to Saturday, 8.30am until 11pm, and LS and FG2 run seven days. Tell us your road and we will work out whether the van needs a bay.

CR4 rents cheaper than most of Merton and the tram to Wimbledon takes about fifteen minutes, so the flats here turn over steadily and the checkout inventory almost always names the oven. We time those jobs to the checkout date, and the oven is heat-tested and signed off before we leave.
Do you do the flats above the shops on the parades?
Yes. Stairs are fine. The tank stays in the van and only the removable parts travel.
Is the hob included with the oven price?
No, it is separate, £23–28 depending on the type. Gas hobs with cast iron pan supports sit at the top of that.
Do I need to be there the whole time?
No, though someone should let us in and be there at the end for the heat test. Ninety minutes for a single, two hours for a double. Our technicians are DBS-checked and insured.
