The old Inglis Barracks site is now Millbrook Park, and it changed what our week here looks like. Those two thousand-odd new-build flats and houses along Henry Darlot Drive came with fully integrated kitchens, mostly an AEG or Bosch double oven above an induction hob, all built flush into the units. Integrated ovens need care on the way out and back in, so we take our time unclipping and reseating them rather than forcing anything. The racks, shelves and side runners come out to the heated dip-tank in the van; the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so the flat has no chemical smell after.
Beyond Millbrook Park
Walk west and the housing flips. Around The Broadway and Poets Corner you get 1920s and 1930s semis, plus older Victorian and Edwardian terraces, and those tend to run freestanding cookers or a built-under single oven. The detached family homes with driveways make parking simple. That matters here, because the branch is odd.
- The Northern line spur
- Mill Hill East is the end of a single-track branch off Finchley Central. It was built for the barracks and never doubled, which is why the roads around the station stay quieter than a normal Tube stop.
- Dip-tank clean
- Removable metal parts soak in a heated tank in the van. It lifts baked-on grease that spray-on products leave behind.
A single oven takes about ninety minutes. A double runs closer to two hours. We heat-test the oven and sign it off before we leave.

Questions we get in NW7
My flat on Henry Darlot Drive has an integrated AEG double. Is that a double-oven price?
Yes. An integrated double oven is £110, the same as a freestanding one. We unclip it carefully, clean it properly, and our double oven clean puts it back seated the way it came out.
Do the induction hobs in the new builds cost extra?
A hob clean is £23–28 whether it is induction, ceramic or gas. On the Millbrook Park kitchens the glass usually comes up well, and we do it in the same slot as the oven.
Is parking a problem near the station?
Rarely. Most of the new-build houses and the older semis have driveways or off-street space, and the single-track branch keeps the surrounding streets calmer than a busier line. The van and dip-tank stay together while we work.
Do you cover the terraces around The Broadway too?
Yes, all of NW7. Freestanding and built-under single ovens in the older stock are £77, and we bring the tank to you the same as anywhere else.
