Oven cleaning in Mile End Old Town, E1, done by the dip-tank method. Racks soak in a heated tank in the van; single ovens start at £77.
The kitchens we see
Mile End Old Town runs across the E1 and E3 postcodes, and the housing splits three ways once a technician is on the ground. Around Stepney Green and Assembly Passage sit the surviving Georgian and early Victorian terraces inside the Stepney Green Conservation Area, designated back in January 1973. Off Mile End Road are the postwar council estates and tower blocks that replaced streets cleared after the Blitz. Then there is the student flat market feeding Queen Mary University, whose Mile End campus is on the doorstep.
That last one drives a lot of our work. Because the turnover of QMUL lets is so fast, we get a constant run of end-of-tenancy oven cleans through the summer, usually a fitted single in a converted flat, booked by a landlord or agent in the fortnight before the next set of students moves in. Our single oven cleaning is the common booking for those, and it is heat-tested and signed off ready for the check-out.
Parking is the real operational fact here. Much of the area sits under a Tower Hamlets controlled parking zone, and the whole borough is inside ULEZ, which our van meets. On the estate roads and tighter conservation streets the technician carries racks and runners out by hand while the cavity is degreased indoors.
How the clean is done
Shelves, trays and side runners come out and soak in a heated dip tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left in a small converted-flat kitchen afterwards. The door is split to reach the inner pane where the design allows. A single takes about ninety minutes. A double runs closer to two hours.

Questions we get asked
Do you handle end-of-tenancy cleans near Queen Mary?
Yes, that is a large part of what we do around Mile End Road and Stepney Green. Book before the check-out and the oven is signed off ready for inspection.
Can you reach a top-floor flat with no lift?
Yes. The heavy soaking happens in the van, so the technician only carries out the racks and shelves. The cavity work is done in place.
Will there be a chemical smell afterwards?
No. The caustic soak stays sealed inside the tank in the van. Indoors we use non-caustic products only.
How much notice do you need?
Often we can fit a booking in within a day or two, and we work seven days. Agents with a run of check-outs can block several in.
