The chapter house of Merton Priory sits under Merantun Way, the road driven across the site in 1988, and it was in that chapter house that Henry III signed the Statute of Merton in 1236, the first written parliamentary law in England. Most of the rest of the priory foundations lie under the Sainsbury's Savacentre. A small patch with a lot buried under it, and the homes on top are mostly recent.
Printing on this site ran until 1982
Morris and Co took a lease on the Merton Abbey Works in June 1881 and stayed until 1940, working a seven-acre site that spanned the River Wandle, and Liberty bought the printing works in 1904 and kept textile production going here until 1982. What survives is a crafts market, with the water-mill and the mid-18th-century colourhouse both Grade II listed. The kitchens nearby are nothing like that old. Most are new and small, and a hob is £23–28 if you want it done alongside the oven.
Flats built against a medieval wall
Abbey Wall, on Station Road at SW19 2LP, is 66 apartments over a ground-floor commercial unit, done in buff brick with copper-tone windows and designed to keep the medieval boundary walls inside the scheme; Stiles West adds another 41 flats beside the Wandle. Stock like that means one integrated oven per kitchen, with no door between the cooker and the sofa, so the racks, shelves, trays and side runners leave the flat for the heated tank in the van and only the cavity, fan cover and door glass are done indoors, by hand, with non-caustic products.
Merantun Way, and where the van goes
Merantun Way is the A24 dual carriageway running between the Savacentre and Merton Abbey Mills, and nobody parks on that. Colliers Wood and South Wimbledon are the nearest tubes, both Northern line. We find a bay and carry. No premium for an SW19 address, and the figure we say on the phone is what you pay.

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
