Two estates, three kinds of kitchen
Most of Marylebone belongs to two landlords, and the split shows in the cookers we clean. The Howard de Walden streets around Marylebone High Street and Chiltern Street run to Georgian townhouses and red-brick mansion flats sitting above the shops, and behind Mount Row and the cobbled mews sit converted stable cottages with narrow galley kitchens. West of Gloucester Place, the Portman Estate holds much the same mix of stucco and mansion blocks. In a townhouse we often meet a range cooker or a double; in a mansion flat or a mews cottage it is usually a single integrated oven, and the racks travel down a lift or a tight stair to the van.

The other end, off Lisson Grove
Not all of it is stucco and shopfronts. Towards Church Street and Lisson Grove the ground shifts to the Lisson Green estate and blocks like Oxford and Cambridge Mansions on Cabbell Street, where Church Street Market has traded antiques and bric-a-brac since the sixties. These are rented flats with a single oven each, and they turn over often, so a good share of the work up here is a move-out handed back clean.
How the clean runs
The lift-out parts soak in a heated tank in the van. Indoors, the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand with non-caustic products, so no chemical smell is left behind, and where the door allows it we split it to clean between the glass. Every oven is heat-tested and signed off before we leave. A single is about ninety minutes, a double nearer two hours.
Parking off the High Street
Parking is a real operational fact in W1, and Marylebone sits inside the congestion charge zone, with Marylebone Road forming its northern edge. That is the £18-a-day charge, which our vans cover for you, and the ULEZ, which our vans also meet. On the ground the streets are a controlled zone with restricted daytime hours, the mews are narrow and often have loading bans, and near Marylebone station the kerbs fill early. Because the tank stays on board, we do not need a space at your door, so a mews cottage with no room out front is no obstacle.

Yes, we do it often around the Howard de Walden mews. The galley kitchens are tight, but the tank is in the van, so a single is still £77 and about ninety minutes.
Do you handle a townhouse range cooker?
Yes. A 90cm range is £114, and the Georgian houses off the High Street often have one. It takes a little longer than a single.
Is there a surcharge for Marylebone?
No. A single oven is £77 whether it is a mansion flat on Chiltern Street or a rented flat off Lisson Grove.
Do I pay the congestion charge or ULEZ?
No. Marylebone is inside the charge zone, but our vans meet the ULEZ and we cover the charge ourselves, so neither reaches your bill.
