London Oven Cleaners clean ovens in Maryland, E15, from £77. Before we leave, the oven is heated and you inspect it; if a corner is not right, it is put right then.
Maryland became a ward in 2022. When the Boundary Commission drew it, Newham Council and a resident suggested calling it New Town, citing a possible link between the name Maryland and a prominent figure in the colonial governments of North America; the Commission kept Maryland because the Maryland Community Group showed the name in use on schools, parks and transport.
From Maryland Point to Maryland ward
The name is old. Maryland Point is shown on a map of 1696, and by 1744-6 it was one of the outlying hamlets round Stratford. The railway brought the houses: the Eastern Counties Railway built Hudson Town beside its works, and by 1855 it had reached north as far as Maryland Road.
Today flats are the biggest share of homes. Of its 4,520 households at the 2021 Census, 44.1% lived in a purpose-built block, 30.5% in a terraced house and 8.3% in part of a converted house. Renting is the norm: 37.4% rented privately and 32.2% from the council or a housing association (20.9% from the council itself), with 28.3% owning their home.
Freestanding cooker or built-in oven?
Ovens come in two common set-ups.
- Freestanding cooker
- stands on the floor between the units, with the hob on top and usually a grill compartment above the main oven; common in older terraces
- Built-in oven
- sits in a housing unit, at eye level or under the worktop, with a separate hob; common in newer blocks
Either way, the shelves, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen. The door comes apart where its design allows. For a one-cavity oven, the single oven cleaning page has the detail.

Parking in Stratford Central on match days
On Newham's zone map, Leytonstone Road by the station, Manbey Park Road, Manbey Grove and Louise Road are all in Stratford Central, where permit bays are controlled from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. It is one of the five zones with event-day rules: when West Ham's men's or women's team play at home, or something is on at the London Stadium or in the Olympic Park, control runs from 8am to 9pm, bank holidays included. Gurney Road, further north, is in Stratford North West, also an event-day zone. Keogh Road is split: its western end is in Stratford Central, its eastern end in Stratford North East, which has no event-day rules. If your visit falls on a match day, say so when you book and the van can be planned around it.
Questions from Maryland
Can you come on a Sunday?
Yes, at the weekday price. Stratford Central has no permit hours on an ordinary Sunday, but the event-day rules still apply if there is a fixture.
Can the hob be cleaned too?
Yes. A gas hob is £28 and a ceramic hob £23 on top of the oven price, fixed on the same call.
I am moving out of a flat near Maryland station. Can the letting agent have the invoice?
Yes. The invoice can be addressed to the agency, with photos for the checkout file if they want them, and keys can be collected for an empty flat by arrangement.
How long does a double oven take?
About two hours. A single is about 90 minutes.
What customers tell us
Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.
