Hounslow's appraisal of the St Dunstan's conservation area calls Lower Feltham the oldest part of the town. The village grew up around St Dunstan's Church, at the south-west end of the High Street, until the railway arrived in 1848 and drew building north towards the station, which the appraisal gives as the start of the split between Upper and Lower Feltham.

The church standing there now was completed in 1802 to a design by William Walker of Chertsey, and it is listed Grade II*. Lower Feltham developed more gradually than the area round the station. In the 1920s and 1930s streets of semi-detached houses went up in a grid north of St Dunstan's Road, and in the late 1940s or early 1950s a new road joined the High Street to Ashford Road, bypassing the old street and creating a form of village green in front of the churchyard. St Dunstan's Park opened in 1951.
Hounslow's 2024 design code fills in the rest: interwar semis, post-war cul-de-sacs and bungalows, and the looser layout of Redford Close from late in the twentieth century. Further south, Hamilton Road and Highland Park run down towards the borough edge; Oakhall Drive, a few hundred metres on, is already in Spelthorne.

Hounslow says the entry boards at each CPZ show its operating times, and a yellow-lined area that runs at different times is signed separately, so check the boards and signs on your own road.
