The square went up on the Tyssen family's manor land as housing for merchants and brokers, and it is still the second largest garden square in Hackney, with two sides of tall Georgian terraces, five storeys, sash windows, cast-iron balconies. Almost none of those houses are one household now. They are conversion flats, one or two per floor, which means several kitchens stacked up a single original staircase and an oven that has to be worked on where it stands. Racks and trays come down to the tank in the van. Everything else is done by hand in the room.
Sunday on Chatsworth Road is not a working morning
Chatsworth Road was built in 1867 to serve the new suburb, ran five days a week with around 200 stalls by the 1930s, closed in the 1990s and was brought back by local traders and volunteers in 2010. The Sunday market pedestrianises the street. We work seven days, but if you live on that stretch, book a weekday and save us both the walk.
Zone N runs 7.30am to 6.30pm on weekdays
Hackney's Homerton and Lower Clapton zone is controlled Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6.30pm, and outside those hours the bays are free although yellow lines still apply. Glenarm Road, where the Round Chapel sits, and the terraces off Lower Clapton Road are tight for a van carrying a heated tank. A resident visitor voucher makes the whole thing simpler if you have one going spare.

Do you take the oven door apart?
Where the design allows it, the door is split so the inner glass can be reached. Some older units do not come apart safely. Those get cleaned in place instead.
Is there a smell afterwards?
No. Non-caustic products indoors, and the caustic-free tank work happens in the van outside. The oven is heat-tested and signed off before we go.
Can you clean the hob at the same time?
Yes. A hob is £23–28 depending on whether it is gas, ceramic or induction, and it adds about half an hour.
Is there a charge for coming out to E5?
No call-out fee inside the North Circular, and Lower Clapton is well inside it. The price you are quoted on the phone is the price.

Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
