The estates were built in three different centuries of thinking
Fisherton Street Estate came in 1924 under Homes for Heroes. Church Street Estate followed in 1949. Lisson Green was designed in the 1960s and built between 1970 and 1975 as 23 blocks plus houses, one of the largest estates in Westminster, and a ten-year regeneration finished in 2007 took out the raised walkways that once linked the blocks together, so the way to a front door now runs at ground level through the courtyards. That changes the walk.

The Lisson Grove Regeneration Programme is redeveloping the Orchardson Street council building and the Lilestone Street cluster, including Gayhurst House and Penn House, for up to 300 homes, half of them social or intermediate. New flats mean integrated single ovens.

The market runs between Lisson Grove itself and Edgware Road, antiques and bric-a-brac, going strong since the 1960s. Stalls take the street. Add Westminster controlled parking and the Marylebone Flyover cutting the area in half, and the van often ends up a courtyard away. Give us the block name and floor when you book.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
