Leytonstone station opened in 1856 on the branch line from Stratford to Loughton, and by 1867 the ground between Mornington Road and the High Road, just east of it, was being laid out as what the Victoria County History calls a better-class district.
Between the High Road and Mornington Road

Parking near Leytonstone station: the LC zone
Since 19 December 2025 Aylmer, Carlton, Dacre and Barfield Roads have been a zone of their own, Leytonstone Central (LC), moved out of Leytonstone East. Permit bays and single yellow lines there are controlled from 8am to 8pm, Monday to Friday, apart from a 10-metre bay outside the mosque in Dacre Road. LC was set up by an experimental order that can stay in force until 18 June 2027, so the signs may change again.
Round them, Browning Road, Mornington Road, Leyspring Road and Lister Road stay in Leytonstone East, which the council's March 2026 zone map shows as controlled 10am to 2pm on weekdays. On a weekday inside those hours the van needs one of your visitor permits. Saturday and Sunday fall outside both zones' hours, at the weekday price.

Do I need a visitor permit on Dacre Road?

Yes. An extractor hood is £28 and a gas hob is £28, agreed on the phone with the oven.
Do you cover the High Road as well?
