At Lee Green the line between two boroughs runs along Eltham Road. Leybridge Court and the Leegate site on the south side are in Lewisham, while the houses on the north side, with Ravens Way and Meadowcourt Road behind them, are in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
The Leegate site on the south-east corner
That corner of the crossroads was Lee Green Farm from the 1660s. Lee station opened in 1866 and prompted more housebuilding at the crossroads; the farm site was built on as Carston Mews, and in the early 1960s the whole quarter was cleared for the Leegate shopping centre. Trade fell away after Sainsbury's opened across Burnt Ash Road in the late 1980s. Leegate has now gone too: in June 2026 the Lee Manor Society reported that demolition was complete.
London Square's plan for the site is 620 homes with a medical centre and a supermarket. Clarion Housing is taking 261 of them, 149 for social rent and 112 for shared ownership. None of it is built yet. In August 2026 the society reported that the developer was waiting for the Building Safety Regulator to approve the plans and that work was unlikely to start before October.
Flats along Burnt Ash Road to Lee station
The station moved the centre of Lee. Burnt Ash Road, the stretch between Lee Green and the station, took over from Lee High Road, and most of the district was built up by 1914. Plenty of those older houses are now split: the address list for Burnt Ash Road has basement and first-floor flats at numbers such as 72, 108 and 122. There are blocks of flats too, Sycamore Court on Burnt Ash Road and Woodstock Court up the hill on Burnt Ash Hill.
The census area for this strip, which takes in Leyland Road, Upwood Road and Dorville Road (Lewisham 016C), had about 750 households in 2021. Of those, 39.1% lived in a purpose-built block and 10.5% in a converted or shared house; 38.1% rented privately, against 24.8% across Lee Green ward. A checkout inspection at the end of a let usually includes the oven.
The kitchen in a flat like these usually has a built-in single under the worktop or a freestanding cooker. Racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand in the kitchen, on dust sheets. Parking on both sides of the borough line
On the council's parking map, Burnt Ash Road is the edge of zone LG, Lee Green. The streets west of it are in the zone, which Lewisham's zone table lists as controlled from 10am to noon, Monday to Friday, so a visit that starts after noon is outside permit time. The east side, with Leyland Road, Dorville Road and Upwood Road, is outside any zone on that map for now. In July 2025 the council's Mayor and Cabinet approved adding Burnt Ash Hill between Eltham Road and the South Circular, Cambridge Drive and Upwood Road to LG, and the council says a statutory consultation comes before any change. North of Eltham Road the rules are Royal Greenwich's, so read the nearest sign. On either side the team needs somewhere to park; the road name helps.

Is Upwood Road in the Lee Green zone yet?
Not on the council's current map. Adding it, with Cambridge Drive and part of Burnt Ash Hill, was approved in July 2025, but a statutory consultation is the next step, so check the signs on the day.
Can you collect keys from the agent for an empty flat?
Yes, by arrangement with the agency, and the invoice can go to the agency in its own name.
