Leavesden Aerodrome was built at the start of the Second World War as an aircraft factory (sources give 1939 or 1940), and it made Halifax bombers and Mosquitos during the war. Pyrolytic cleaning compared with a hand clean
A pyrolytic oven has a programme that heats the empty cavity to around 500°C and turns food residue to ash, which you then wipe out. It works on the enamel of the cavity and runs for a few hours. The racks and side runners usually have to come out before it starts, so they stay dirty, and grease trapped between the door panes is not reached.

Leavesden's two councils
Leavesden is split between Three Rivers District Council and Watford Borough Council. The studios and the streets near them are in Three Rivers, in Abbots Langley parish, while Trident Road and Comet Close, just to the east, are in Watford's Woodside ward. North of the studios, the Metropolitan Asylum opened in 1870 on what is now College Road. After Leavesden Hospital closed in the 1990s its site was built over with housing, and its grounds are now Leavesden Country Park, run by Three Rivers.
