Lea Bridge station on Argall Way reopened on 16 May 2016, 31 years after it closed. A station first opened there in 1840, and the Victoria County History says Leyton's house building began in the district nearest to it: plots on Park, Grange, Shaftesbury and Carlisle Roads were sold by 1853 and the houses occupied by 1857. Two big schemes are next. On three council-owned plots at the Orient Way, Argall Way and Lea Bridge Road junction, the council has approval for 387 homes, all of them affordable, in towers of 26 and 29 storeys with a new station entrance; the council's timeline has enabling works starting at the first site in January 2026. South of Clementina Road, where gas was made from 1853 until 2012, the planning committee backed 643 homes in buildings of up to 21 storeys in July 2024. The Lea Bridge Road parking zone
The streets east of Elm Park Road (Perth Road, Kettlebaston Road, Bloxhall Road, Morieux Road, Clementina Road and Seymour Road) are in zone LBR on the council's parking zone map, controlled Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm. The council says some streets inside a zone run different hours, so the signs on the street are what count. The team needs somewhere to park, so mention the street when you book.
