At The Lancasters, the run of fifteen Grade II listed stucco houses turned into 77 flats and finished in 2011, the van goes down into the three-storey car park under the front gardens rather than sitting on Bayswater Road. That suits us. Everything soaks in the tank two floors below the kitchen it came out of.
The appliances match the address. Miele and Gaggenau in the newer fit-outs, Neff further down the scale, and in the deep houses on Hyde Park Gardens and Sussex Square a 90cm range or the occasional AGA that nobody has touched since the last tenancy ended. We price the 90cm range cookers in the Hyde Park Gardens houses at £114 and a two-oven AGA at £143, the same as anywhere else in London.
Parking, and what falls outside the congestion zone
Lancaster Gate sits outside the Congestion Charge Zone, which surprises people given the postcode, so a morning booking here costs us nothing extra and it costs you nothing extra either, because we do not add a premium-area surcharge anywhere in London. Bayswater Road is the A402 and you do not stop on it. Craven Hill Gardens and Leinster Terrace are Westminster pay bays, controlled Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm and Saturday to 1.30pm.

Yes, a two-oven AGA is £143. It has to be off and cold, so most people switch it off the night before we come.
Will there be a smell afterwards?
No. The products we use indoors are non-caustic and the soaking is all done in the van. We open a window anyway.
Do we need to warn the building first?
Usually. The Lancasters has a barrier on the car park and most of the mansion blocks want the van registration in advance.
Do you work Sundays?
Seven days a week. Sunday mornings are the quietest for parking on Craven Hill.
