Kew Bridge Pumping Station pumped drinking water by steam until 1958. Its filter beds and reservoirs were then filled in and much of the surrounding land was sold for housing; the engine houses survive as the London Museum of Water & Steam, under a Grade I listed standpipe tower of 1867, 200 feet high.

In the census area south of Kew Bridge Road (Hounslow 030C), 90.8% of the 576 households lived in a purpose-built block of flats; 38.5% rented privately, 35.9% owned and 9.0% were part-buying. North of the road, in the census area that includes Heritage Walk (Hounslow 030A), the flats share was 83.9%, with 47.6% renting from a social landlord and 30.7% from a private one.

The price follows the appliance, and the figure agreed on the phone is the one on the invoice. A flat kitchen usually has a single or a double; a hob and extractor done with a single oven is the £117 bundle.
Parking for the van near Kew Bridge station
The new blocks are private developments: Hounslow's parking zone map shows no zone across Heritage Walk or the riverside scheme, and Heritage Walk's parking is gated under the buildings. Ask your concierge or managing agent how a tradesperson's van gets in, and tell us when you book. The council streets just west form the Haverfields and Brentford Towers zone, controlled 10am to 11am and 7pm to 8pm on weekdays and 2.30pm to 3.30pm on a match-day Saturday. Hounslow also sends extra enforcement officers to the streets round the stadium for big events, so tell us if your date is a home match day.

Is Kew Bridge in Brentford or Chiswick?
Both, and both are Hounslow. Heritage Walk and the streets by the station are in Brentford East ward (TW8), while the riverside blocks by the bridge fall in Chiswick Riverside ward. Kew itself is across the river.
Can the oven be cleaned in a flat that is already empty?
Yes, keys for an empty flat can be collected by arrangement, which suits a tenant who has already moved out. Letting agents can ask for photos for the checkout file.
My flat has a pyrolytic oven. Is a clean still worth it?
