Kent House, the building the station is named after, stood on Kent House Road near its junction with Lennard Road until it was pulled down in February 1957. Coming out from London it was the first house in Kent, and Beckenham's local historians trace it back to 1240, when St Catherine's Hospital owned it.

Bromley's permit table lists a Barnmead Road zone, BAR, controlled from 10am to noon, Monday to Friday. The council puts a zone's hours on signs at the points where you enter and leave it, so the plate at the end of your road is the one that counts. A weekday visit starting after noon misses those two hours, and so does a weekend one, which costs the same as a weekday. Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
