Most of our W8 work is in the mansion blocks strung along the High Street itself, Phillimore Court, Stafford Court and Troy Court, plus the side turnings off it: Wright's Lane, Young Street and Cheniston Gardens. Those flats almost always have one integrated single oven behind a cabinet door, and the racks come out to the van. The blocks are Edwardian red brick with period lifts, and because those lifts have real size and weight limits, a technician walking a tray of shelves down four flights is an ordinary part of a Kensington day rather than a bad one.
The Phillimore side is a different job
North of the High Street, up Campden Hill Road into Phillimore Gardens and Stafford Terrace, the stock changes to Victorian townhouses. Kitchens there sit lower-ground, knocked through towards the garden, and the cooker is very often a 90cm dual-fuel rather than a built-in. We do more range cooker cleans on the Phillimore Estate than on any other set of streets in the borough, and the estate is only 51 properties. That is a strange concentration for such a small patch.
Parking and access
RBKC controls single yellow lines Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6:30pm, and the borough enforces harder than most. We plan around it. The van needs to sit close enough to carry shelves and side runners out and back, so if you are on the High Street frontage or near the station entrance at High Street Kensington, say so when you call.
The lift decides how long a W8 mansion flat takes, not the oven.

Will the flat smell of chemicals afterwards?
No. The caustic work happens in the heated tank in the van. Indoors we use non-caustic products on the cavity, fan cover and door glass, by hand, so there is nothing to air out after we go.
Do you charge extra for a mansion block with no parking outside?
No, and no call-out fee inside the North and South Circular. If a suspension is genuinely needed we say so before booking, not on the day.
How long does a single oven take?
About ninety minutes. A double is nearer two hours. Add a little for a top-floor flat with a small lift.
Do you clean the ovens in the Phillimore Gardens houses?
Yes, including the 90cm ranges. The door is split where the design allows, the oven is heat-tested, and it is signed off before we leave.
