This is the southern end of the Island, the streets around the park facing Greenwich across the river and the northern mouth of the Greenwich foot tunnel. Island Gardens DLR opened here in 1987 as the line's first southern terminus. Much of our work nearby is the Chapel House Estate, the Neo-Georgian houses Frank Baines designed after the First World War, plus the Victorian and interwar terraces that back onto the park. A freestanding gas or dual-fuel cooker is the common find on the Chapel House streets, and in the bigger houses a 90cm range turns up more than it does further north on the Island. The dip-tank suits both. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out and soak in the heated tank in the van, then the cavity, fan cover and door glass are done by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left in the house. A single runs about ninety minutes, a range a little more.

Parking and access
The south of the Island is Tower Hamlets Zone D, permit bays only from 9:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, and the streets near the park by the foot tunnel are tight. Tell us when you book whether there is a driveway or a bay, because the tank ferries from the van and a long carry eats into a fixed-price job. The Island is inside the ULEZ, and our vans meet the standard.
Do you clean 90cm range cookers here?
Yes. The larger Chapel House and terraced houses often have one, and it is a fixed £114 including both cavities and the door glass.
Is the oven usable straight after?
Yes. We heat-test it and sign it off, and the non-caustic products mean nothing to air out.
Can you fit the hob and extractor in the same visit?
Yes. A hob is £23–28 and an extractor hood is £28, added to the oven price.
Do you do end-of-tenancy oven cleans on the terraces?
We do, seven days a week, and we sign the oven off for the inventory clerk.
