Red Lion Square, just north of Holborn station, was laid out in 1684 by Nicholas Barbon. Holborn had its own council from 1900, the Metropolitan Borough of Holborn, until it became part of Camden in 1965.

The Bourne Estate by Leather Lane
The Bourne Estate lies between Clerkenwell Road to the north and Baldwins Gardens to the south, with Leather Lane on its east side. The London County Council built it in the early 1900s, and most of it is listed Grade II. North of Portpool Lane it still looks as it was built: tightly packed five-storey blocks.
In the south, Camden pulled down the post-war Mawson House. The redevelopment by Matthew Lloyd Architects, finished in 2017, provided 75 new homes, a mix of council homes, Camden Living homes and homes for private sale, and won a RIBA London Region award in 2018. In the Census area round the estate (Camden 027C), 96.5% of the 748 households lived in purpose-built flats in 2021, and three in four rented from the council or a housing association.
Whether your flat is in an Edwardian block or one of the 2017 ones, the oven gets the same treatment. One price per appliance: say whether it is a single, a double or a range when you call, and that figure is fixed before the visit. A double takes about two hours on site.
Parking in Holborn's CA-D zone
Red Lion Square, Leather Lane and the Bourne Estate are all in Camden's CA-D zone, named Kings Cross Area, controlled 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday and 8.30am to 1.30pm on Saturday. Lincoln's Inn Fields, a short walk south, is in CA-C instead, controlled until 6.30pm on Saturdays as well.
A visitor permit in Camden is for a resident's own guests. Trade vans can use Camden's trade permit in resident bays and on single yellow lines in the job's zone, but the permit is no good inside a housing estate.

Arrived promptly and did a great job cleaning the oven, hob and extractor. They look like new now and for a very reasonable price too.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
