Hinchley Wood station opened on 20 October 1930 on the New Guildford Line, by the intersection with the Kingston Bypass, and the suburb grew up around it.

Elmbridge's design guide says the area was mostly developed in the early 1930s and still hangs together: house designs and materials are consistent within each road, and street trees add to its leafy character. Closer to the line the picture changes. The guide notes flats on the redeveloped east side of Manor Road North beside the Kingston Bypass and on Woodfield Road, north of the station, and sheltered housing west of Manor Road North by the railway. Parking off the Kingston Bypass
The bypass, the A309, runs through the suburb, and it is no place for the van to wait. Elmbridge's directory of council-run car parks lists none in Hinchley Wood itself, so a drive or a space in a side road is what we need. On-street restrictions are Surrey County Council's; the signs on your road are the ones to check.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
