Heston West is a semi-detached ward
At the 2011 census Heston West held 12,438 people in 4,016 households, and 1,405 of those homes were semi-detached, which makes it the dominant house type by a distance. That matters to us for a dull reason: semis of that vintage have real kitchens with room for a freestanding cooker or a proper built-under double, not the single integrated unit you get in a new flat. The aerodrome streets
Half the ward is built on Heston Aerodrome, which ran from 1929 to 1947 and is the airfield Neville Chamberlain flew back into in 1938. The roads still carry the names: Alcock, Brabazon, Bleriot, Sopwith. Postwar and later housing, mostly. Driveways and hardstanding are common there, which is the parking answer for most of these jobs, and it is worth saying that the van needs to be within a reasonable carry of the kitchen because the racks and trays go out to the heated dip tank and come back in.

Racks, shelves, trays and side runners lift out and soak in the tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are done by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so nothing lingers. The door is split where the design allows. We heat-test the oven and sign it off before leaving.
