Oven cleaning in Heronsgate from £77, by London Oven Cleaners. We rebuild the oven, light it and wait while you look inside; if any part falls short, it is cleaned again before we go.
The Land of Liberty, Peace and Plenty on Long Lane was a pub before Heronsgate was a settlement. Three Rivers dates the building to about 1820. The Chartist leader would not allow a tavern on the estate, so the pub was the refreshment nearby.
What survives of O'Connorville
The Land Company built 18 of its houses as semi-detached pairs; the rest were single-storey cottages and a few individual houses, and one plot held the school. All the houses were rendered with slate roofs, and the pairs and cottages had a pedimented gable with a tablet, a stylised version of the Charter. A cottage had a central entrance into the living room, with the kitchen off one side and a bedroom off the other.
The council's 2012 appraisal counts nine of the originals as Grade II listed, among them Sunnyside, Crowthorne and Craven Cottage on Nottingham Road. It picked out twenty more for the council's local list. The school, The Grange, is a private house. Many plots were divided and built on, mostly in the first half of the 20th century, and the only new road since the Chartists is Cherry Tree Lane, a cul-de-sac of inter-war houses.

A kitchen built as a side room off a cottage living room was never meant for a modern cooker, and in an altered or extended house the kitchen has often moved into the newer part. Whatever the cooker is now, from a built-in single to a range, the price is fixed on the phone before we come.
Three in four households live in a detached house
Heronsgate's conservation area was designated on 11 February 1993 and covers 59 hectares, at less than two homes per hectare. The 2021 Census output area that covers the settlement had 94 households: 70 (74.5%) in detached houses and 20 (21.3%) in semis. 88 of the 94, or 93.6%, owned their home.
Nine-foot lanes and the van
The Chartist roads were laid out nine feet wide, enough for a horse and cart, and they have not been widened; tall hedgerows now make them feel narrower still. None of them is on Three Rivers' list of permit-zone streets, so there is no visitor permit to sort out, but obey any signs. The team needs somewhere to park, and a drive or a space close to one is best. Inside, dust sheets go down first, the racks, trays and side runners come out to be soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity, the fan cover and the door glass are done by hand.

- Two-oven AGA, £143
- a traditional AGA stores heat and stays on all the time, so it is switched off the night before; about half a day

Heronsgate oven cleaning questions
Is Heronsgate part of Chorleywood?
Yes, since 1 April 2026. The Chartist settlement round Nottingham Road and Long Lane was an unparished area of Three Rivers until then, and the council's community governance review added it to Chorleywood Parish Council, in the Chorleywood South parish ward. Heronsgate Road, about a kilometre to the north-west, was already in Chorleywood parish. The district ward is Chorleywood South and Maple Cross. The Chorleywood page covers the village itself.
My house is one of the listed Chartist cottages. Is the clean any different?
No. The listing covers the building, and the oven is cleaned the same way: dust sheets first, the removable parts soaked and cleaned separately, the inside by hand.
Can you come on a Saturday?
Yes, any day of the week, and a weekend visit costs the weekday price.

Said after the sign-off
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
I would certainly recommend this service, very efficient and good value for money. The young man did a great job and even cleaned the kitchen floor. Thank you.
Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
