Headstone Manor was built in 1310 and is the earliest surviving timber-framed building in Middlesex, and its bridged moat still holds water, thought to be the only filled moat left in the county. The Great Barn beside it went up in 1506, 43 metres long and nine metres high, framed in English oak. The two sit in Headstone Manor Park, which is the green gap between Headstone and North Harrow.
Metroland semis and what sits in the kitchen
Headstone South is mostly 1930s semi-detached housing, put up as the Metropolitan line pushed north-west out of London, which means the standard kitchen here is a small back room, usually extended once, holding either a freestanding 60cm cooker or a built-under double in a run of units fitted decades after the house itself. Grease works its way behind the fan cover in both. A built-under double in a Headstone semi is £110 and takes about two hours.
The Victor Road zone is new here
Harrow agreed an experimental scheme in March 2025 covering the Headstone Drive and Harrow View area. The Victor Road CPZ, marked VR, runs Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm, and takes in Albert Road, Edward Road, Fairfield Drive, Sidney Road, Victor Road and parts of Harrow View and Headstone Gardens. We pay for the bay. Fixed price either way, and no premium-area surcharge on an HA2 or HA3 address.
The tank never comes indoors
Racks, shelves, trays and side runners lift out and soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand inside with non-caustic products, so nothing sharp is left hanging in the air afterwards. The oven is heat-tested and signed off before we go.

Can you come on a Saturday if I am in the Victor Road zone?
Yes. We work seven days, and the VR bays are controlled on Saturdays anyway, so it makes no difference to us. We pay whatever the bay costs.
Do the racks come back looking new?
They come back clean rather than new. Baked carbon lifts in the tank, but scoring and discolouration in the chrome itself is permanent and no method shifts it.
Is this enough for a check-out inventory?
Usually, yes. The door glass is split where the design allows, which is the part a clerk shines a torch at.
Do you cover the HA3 side as well as HA2?
Both. Headstone straddles the two districts, and the price is the same across them.
Said after the sign-off
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
