The M25 runs straight through Hatchford and splits it from Pointers Green, the hamlet it has always been counted with. Hatchford Park was rebuilt in the 1850s for Francis Egerton, 1st Earl of Ellesmere, who had already started an arboretum in the grounds in 1845. The War Office had it in the Second World War, and in 1952 it became Hatchford Park School, a residential school for children with disabilities. Developers bought it in the 1990s to convert into private apartments, a fire during that work wrecked much of the interior and many original features with it, and the restored building is now flats known as Hatchford Manor on Ockham Lane.
