Harrow and Wealdstone station opened as plain Harrow in 1837, and its red-brick building on The Bridge was put up in 1911 and 1912 to designs by Gerald Horsley for the London and North Western Railway; it is listed Grade II.
Flats and lets on the west side of the line
The station has a second entrance on the west side, from Sandridge Close, and the streets beyond it, Dukes Avenue, Earls Crescent, Princes Drive and Queens Walk among them, fall in Harrow's Marlborough ward. Zone C, the Royal Estate permit zone
The streets west of the station form zone C, which the council calls the Wealdstone Royal Estate. Until January 2026 it was controlled for one hour on weekday mornings. Since 5 January 2026, under an experimental order, it runs from 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and Harley Road, Harley Crescent and View Close have been added. Leys Close, Rugby Close and View Close work as permit-holders-past-this-point areas, with no marked bays.
In those hours the van needs a drive or a visitor permit to stand on, so tell us which when you book; on Sunday there are no zone controls. The council's zone C page has the full list of roads, and because the order is a trial, check the signs before the day. On a Sunday, when zone C is not controlled, and a Sunday visit costs the weekday price. On other days a drive or a visitor permit is needed.
