Oven cleaning across Harlow new town, CM17 to CM20, from The High down through the Gibberd neighbourhoods and green wedges. Dip-tank method, seven days, single ovens from £77.
Sir Frederick Gibberd drew the master plan in 1947, it gained ministerial approval in 1949, and the Harlow Development Corporation built the town out as a Phase 1 new town under the New Towns Act, alongside Basildon, Stevenage and Hemel Hempstead. The plan split Harlow into neighbourhoods, each with its own shops, schools, pubs and green space, grouped into four clusters on high ground and kept apart by landscaped valleys; Mark Hall was the first neighbourhood and is now a conservation area.
The Lawn and the corporation housing
The Lawn went up in 1951 as the first modern residential tower block in Britain and is now Grade II listed. Most of the corporation stock is terraces, maisonettes and low towers with compact fitted kitchens, an integrated single oven and an extractor that rarely gets touched. The racks, shelves and trays lift out into the heated tank in the van, and a fitted oven in a Harlow maisonette is a straightforward single-oven job.
Sculpture town and The High
Gibberd set up the Harlow Art Trust in 1953, and the town now holds more than 90 public sculptures, including work by Rodin, Henry Moore, Elisabeth Frink and Barbara Hepworth. He called it the Florence of Essex. The High is the pedestrian town centre, and the Water Gardens landscape beside it is listed for its design.
Parking across the neighbourhoods
The neighbourhoods were laid out for cars, so there is usually a bay or a hardstanding near the door. Rental turnover across CM18 and CM19 keeps end-of-tenancy demand steady, and the oven door glass is split where the design allows so the inventory clerk can check between the panes.

Questions from Harlow
Which parts of Harlow do you cover?
CM17 through CM20, across the new-town neighbourhoods. Ring 020 8077 5225 to book a slot any day of the week.
Can you do the extractor hood at the same time?
Yes, £28 added to the oven booking so it is one visit. It is worth it if the hood has run for years.
Is there a chemical smell afterwards?
No. The soaking is done outside, and indoors we degrease the cavity, fan cover and glass by hand with non-caustic products.
How long does a single oven take?
Around ninety minutes, heat-tested and signed off before we leave.

What customers tell us
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
