How much of Harley Street is homes
Less than the name suggests. Westminster's audit of the Harley Street conservation area describes private consulting rooms in the Georgian townhouses, particularly on the ground and first floors, and says the council made the streets a Special Policy Area to protect medical use. The estate calls the area the Harley Street Health District and says it is directly responsible for a large share of its properties. The homes are flats on upper floors, small houses in the mews behind (the audit calls the mews predominantly residential), and, further north, the larger residential population the audit finds in the northern part of the conservation area.
The Census bears that out at the southern end. The output area that takes in the bottom of Harley Street, Cavendish Square and the blocks east of it held only 111 households in 2021. Of those, 82.0% lived in a purpose-built block of flats and 9.9% in a commercial building, such as a flat in an office building or over a shop. Half, 50.5%, rented privately, and 45.9% owned their home, most of them outright.
A flat over a clinic is likely to have a fitted kitchen with a built-in single or double. Its racks, trays and side runners are lifted out and soaked separately, while the cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand over dust sheets, with the door split only where its design allows.

Doctors' bays and parking on Harley Street
Harley Street is on Westminster's list of traffic-sensitive streets, and its southern end, below New Cavendish Street, is in sub-zone F3. Paid bays and single yellow lines there are controlled 8.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday; resident bays 8.30am to 8.30pm, every day. The council's bank holiday rules add that specialist bays, doctors' bays among them, are enforced at all times, and its loading rules bar a van from stopping in one even to load. There are no visitor permits in Westminster, so the van takes an ordinary paid bay, usually limited to four hours, or uses the council's daily trades permit for zone F.

Mostly in your kitchen: the cavity, the door glass and the seals are done by hand there. The racks and trays are taken out and cleaned separately. A few teams bring a heated tank and use it when they can park close, and otherwise do everything in the kitchen. You pay the same either way, and you can ask when you book.
