Harley Street kept its residential frontage from the pavement, though residence on the street is now largely confined to upper-floor flats over the consulting rooms below. Most of that stock sits under the Howard de Walden Estate, which holds the freehold here and refits the Georgian houses behind their original facades. The kitchen is up several flights.
Those refits tend to put integrated ovens in. Miele and Gaggenau single cavities, the occasional Wolf, dropped into a fitted run rather than a freestanding cooker. Ranges turn up in the wider flats around Devonshire Place and Queen Anne Street, but in W1G they are the exception.
Parking is a four-hour meter or the mews
Harley Street and Wimpole Street sit inside Westminster's Zone F, and the on-street bays run 8:30am to 6:30pm Monday to Saturday with a four-hour maximum stay, which is enough time for a double oven but leaves no slack at all if the flat is three flights up with no lift. The fallback is the Q-Park underground car park at Queen Anne Mews, W1G 9HF. None of that shows up on your bill.

Racks, shelves, trays and side runners come out and soak in a heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, so there is no chemical smell left behind in a flat with a clinic under the floorboards. The oven is heat-tested before we sign off. A single takes about ninety minutes. If yours is the built-in single oven clean most of the Howard de Walden refits call for, that is the £77 job.
Do you clean ovens in flats with no lift?
Yes. The dip tank stays in the van, so what goes up and down the stairs is racks and trays, not hot solution.
Can you come at a weekend?
We work seven days. Sunday is often easier on Harley Street itself, because the bays are uncontrolled and the street empties out once the consulting rooms shut.
Is there a Marylebone surcharge?
No. A single oven is £77 here and £77 anywhere else we go. No call-out fee inside the North and South Circular either.
What happens to the door glass?
The door is split where the design allows and the glass degreased by hand. Some integrated Miele and Gaggenau doors are not built to come apart, and on those we clean between the panes as far as the design lets us rather than force it.
