Harlesden's cast-iron Jubilee Clock went up in 1887 for Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. Listed Grade II, it stands on a traffic island where the two arms of the High Street meet.
Craven Park Road, from front gardens to shopfronts
In 1870 Harlesden had three pubs and five terraces, with farms and country houses around them. Then the yards and sidings at Willesden Junction spread between 1873 and 1894, horse trams reached the Royal Oak by 1888, and the town grew fast between 1880 and 1910, plot by plot, as speculative builders put up parades of shops with houses above them. Between 1915 and 1936 numbers 1 to 21 lost their front gardens and had their ground floors turned into shops, and between the wars five pairs of semis at 23 to 51 were pulled down for a block of shops and flats. In May 2024 Brent's Cabinet approved an extension of the Harlesden conservation area, first designated in 1994; the March 2022 assessment behind it proposed adding the southern end of Craven Park Road and the corner of Manor Park Road and Park Parade, where a three-storey terrace of shops with flats over them stands on land shown as Manor Farm on the 1871 map.

Parking around the High Street: zones HS, HA, HW and H
The High Street by the clock, Craven Park Road, Acton Lane, Nicoll Road and Greenhill Park are in zone HS, and the High Street east of the clock, towards Willesden Junction, is in zone H. Drayton Road and Harlesden Gardens are in HW, and Brent's map puts most of Manor Park Road and Tavistock Road, and Bolton Road, in HA. All of them run 8am to 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday, and Brent's map says none applies on bank holidays. North of Craven Park, Fortunegate Road and Tunley Road are in zone HY, which Brent's zone list gives as weekdays only.
Sunday is the one day of the week the town-centre zones have no permit hours, and it costs the same as a weekday. On other days the team needs somewhere legal to park.
