By 1939 the London County Council had put up 1,592 houses on the land of the Cuckoo school, the last big building plot left in Hanwell, and kept the school's chestnut-lined drive as the central road of the estate.
North Hanwell: the LCC estate on Cuckoo Hill
The Victoria County History describes the estate as mostly small terraces, with 82 prefabricated houses added after the Second World War. The main block of the old school, a brick building with a central tower, was left standing; it is now Hanwell Community Centre. On the north-western side of the hill Ealing council later built 104 flats at Gifford Gardens.
The same history says the northern slope of Cuckoo Hill, west of Greenford Avenue, was already being built up by 1932, though it names no roads. Bridge Avenue, Cuckoo Dene, Elmbank Way and Brookbank Avenue are on that side of the hill, between Greenford Avenue and the Brent, and High Lane, once a through road, is now a footpath to Ruislip Road. In the Census small area covering those streets (Ealing 022A), half of the 590 households lived in a semi in 2021 (50.0%) and 30.4% in a terrace; 68.8% owned their home.
A small terraced or semi-detached house may have a small kitchen, or one extended at the back, so a built-in single, a double at eye level and a range are all possible. If the range's hob needs doing too, that is £48 on top of the £143 range clean.

These streets were in Hobbayne ward until the May 2022 boundary changes, and Hobbayne is on Ealing's selective licensing list from 3 January 2023, which the council draws on the ward boundaries from before May 2022, so a private let here generally needs a council licence. Yes. Dust sheets go down first, the removable parts come out and are soaked and cleaned separately, and the cavity, fan cover and door glass are cleaned by hand in the kitchen.
