Ham has no station, so everything arrives by van
The 65, the 371 and the K5 are the whole public transport picture here, and the nearest platforms sit at Richmond or Kingston, a mile or two off. No station, no shortcut. Most Ham jobs come in off Upper Ham Road, the A307.
Parking in Ham is the easy part of TW10, which is not a thing we would say about Richmond town centre. Much of the residential grid here sits outside a Controlled Parking Zone, so there is no permit to borrow and no meter to feed while a double oven soaks. Ham Street car park is free and uncontrolled, though its height barrier is a shade over 2.7 metres and a tall van will not clear it.
The kitchens split three ways
Ham Close is fourteen blocks of early-1960s flats that Richmond Housing Partnership is replacing with 452 new homes, and the first phase topped out at the end of 2025. The older flats mostly run a freestanding cooker with one cavity and a grill above it. The new blocks are the other end of the scale: the sort of built-under integrated single ovens going into the new Ham Close homes, which come out of the housing on two screws.
Then there is Parkleys, the Span estate off Upper Ham Road finished in the mid-1950s, where kitchens are small and the cooker usually sits under a worktop with about four inches of clearance either side. Ham Common and the Georgian frontages behind it are where the range cookers turn up.

Questions we get in Ham
Will the flat smell of chemicals afterwards?
No. The caustic side of the job happens in the heated tank in the van, never in your kitchen. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased by hand indoors with non-caustic products, and the oven is heat-tested before we leave.
How long does it take?
A single oven is about ninety minutes, a double nearer two hours. Badly carbonised racks soak longer, but that happens out in the van while we work on the cavity.
Can you do the hob and the extractor on the same visit?
Yes. A hob is £23–28 depending on type and a hood is £28. Tell us when you book so we bring the right filters and allow the time.
