Hackney Wick's homes after the Trowbridge towers
Much of the old housing on the Hackney side went after the war. The Greater London Council's Trowbridge estate, opened in 1965 and finished in 1969, cleared the old streets between Eastway and the factories by the railway, leaving only the line of Osborne and Prince Edward roads. It had 117 bungalows and seven 21-storey towers, faced in mosaic with glass balconies. Three towers had been demolished by 1987, and by the 1990s low- and medium-rise housing had replaced them.
By 1992 old railway sidings had become the low-rise houses of Edmeston Close, and three-storey ranges had gone up as Leabank Square between Berkshire Road and the Lee Navigation. Writing in 1995, the Victoria County History found only one long terrace left from late Victorian Hackney Wick: numbers 61 to 79 Eastway, near the old public baths.
In a low-rise house with its own front door, access is simple. The one exception it notes is some newer development on Felstead Street, including a taller residential block. A newer flat usually has an integrated single oven under the worktop, with a separate hob.

Parking on each side of the railway
The two councils run different controlled zones, and the team needs a legal space to park.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
