Guildford oven cleaning from £77, booked with London Oven Cleaners. Once the clean is done the oven is heated, you inspect it, and anything not up to scratch is sorted before we leave.
Charlotteville, one of the first planned suburbs in Britain, was laid out in Guildford in 1862 by the architect Henry Peak. A local doctor, Thomas Sells, paid for it and named it after his wife, Charlotte, and its streets carry the names of doctors: Addison, Cheselden, Harvey and Jenner Roads.
Guildford's housing, from Charlotteville to Weyside
The suburbs came in waves. Onslow Village began as a garden-city scheme after the First World War: Onslow Village Ltd bought 646 acres from the Earl of Onslow in 1920, the first foundations were laid that May, 91 houses stood by March 1922, and money ran out after about 600. The Westborough estate dates from the same decade, Dennisville was built in 1934 for workers at the Dennis Brothers factory, and in the 1990s Stoughton Barracks became housing under the name Cardwell's Keep.
The next wave is Weyside Urban Village, about 1,500 homes on brownfield land that includes the old sewage works and part of the Bellfields allotments.
Across the borough, 33.5% of households lived in a detached house at the 2021 Census and 15.1% in a purpose-built flat. Inside the town it is more mixed. In Holy Trinity ward, one of the town-centre wards, 14.4% of households lived in a flat carved out of a converted house. In Westborough, 62.5% lived in a semi-detached house and a third (33.6%) rented from the council or a housing association.

Renting near the university and the town centre
The University of Surrey moved from Battersea to the northern part of Stag Hill; building began in January 1966 and the Royal Charter followed that September. Guildford Park and Dennisville, at the foot of the hill, are popular for student lodgings. The census shows how much of the town rents:
- Holy Trinity
- 38.5% of households renting privately
- Friary and St Nicolas
- 37.6% renting privately; 39.6% in purpose-built flats
- Onslow
- 27.9% renting privately
- Guildford borough
- 19.6% renting privately
A rented flat or student house normally ends its tenancy with an inventory check, and the oven is on the clerk's list. Agents can ask for the invoice in the agency's name and for photos of the finished oven; for an empty let, keys can be collected by arrangement. Our end of tenancy and deposits guide has more for tenants.
Detached houses in Merrow, Burpham and the Horsleys
East of the town the houses spread out. Burpham ward was 41.9% detached and Merrow 41.1% in 2021; in Clandon and Horsley it was 68.6%. Those are the kitchens where a 90cm range or an AGA is likeliest. A range is £143 and takes two to three hours; a two-oven AGA is £143, about half a day, and it must be turned off the night before. The AGA cleaning page covers the cooling time.
Further out, about 10 to 11 km north-east of the town centre, Ockham and Wisley are villages in the north-east of the borough, on GU23 postcodes and outside GU1 to GU4.

Parking in Guildford, on the street and off it
On-street parking in Guildford is Surrey County Council's responsibility. Where a road is permit-only, a resident can buy an all-day visitor permit from the county for £2 (up to 150 a year per household), which is the simplest way to cover the van for a long job. Off the street, Guildford Borough Council's long-stay car park at Guildford Park (GU2 7NF) charges £5 a visit from 8am to 6pm on weekdays and nothing after 6pm or on Sundays.
The arrangements are about to change. Surrey's Guildford parking review 2026 is the last under the current system, because local government reorganisation takes effect on 1 April 2027, and later requests will go to the new West Surrey Council. Tell us when you book if your street is permit-only.
Guildford oven cleaning questions
Can you clean the oven in a student house between tenancies?
Yes. Keys can be collected by arrangement, the invoice can go to the agent, and photos of the oven can be taken for the checkout file.
How long does a 90cm range take?
Two to three hours, including heating the reassembled cooker so you can look inside before we pack up.
Where is the oven cleaned in a Guildford kitchen?
The cavity and door glass are degreased by hand in your kitchen, with dust sheets down first, and the door is split where its design allows. The racks, trays and side runners come out and are soaked and cleaned separately.
Do weekend visits cost more?
No. We work seven days a week at the same prices.

What customers tell us
Brilliant clean, my oven looks like brand new. A 5 star clean.
Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Once again a great job guys, I will see you in a couple of months.
