By 1754 one of Greenford's two main areas of settlement was around the crossing of Ruislip Road and Oldfield Lane, near The Broadway today, and the Red Lion on Ruislip Road was in existence in 1726, though its present building is modern.
The old village crossroads
Windmill Lane runs south from the same junction. Flats over shops
A flat above a shop often means a street door, a flight of stairs and a kitchen at the back of the first floor. No parking zone at the town centre
In late 2024 Ealing council proposed controlled parking zones for Greenford town centre and for Greenford South. Its surveys had found parking in Greenford South 95% full on average and the town centre 60%. Leaflets went to 6,874 homes and businesses, the council received 3,801 responses, most residents did not support the proposals, and the council will not proceed at this time. Windmill Lane, Oldfield Lane South and Ruislip Road are on none of the council's 63 existing zone lists, so there are no zone hours to work round; read the street signs for anything else. The team needs somewhere to park near the door.

Very satisfied with the service. They were slightly late at first but I got a call from customer service to let me know, and it was all fine. The oven man, as he called himself, arrived and worked very hard for a couple of hours. My oven now looks like it has never been used.
Nice hardworking lads that always do a good job. We used them for our old flat when moving out and for the new one now, both jobs were done very professionally. My wife is very impressed with the results and would recommend them to friends and family.
