The grand end of Redington Road and Templewood Avenue is where our range and AGA work sits, houses that were built out from the 1876 development and now change hands well above ten million. Those big detached homes tend to run a two-oven range or a proper AGA in the kitchen, not a slot-in single, and that changes the whole visit. A period conversion off Frognal itself, by contrast, will usually have one integrated oven per flat. So on a single street the technician might do an AGA at one door and a built-in single three doors down.

Frognal is one of the old Hampstead roads, and most of what stands now is late-Victorian and Edwardian, with the showpiece interwar houses on Frognal Way sitting in their own little pocket. The red-brick Edwardian places have the wider hallways, which helps when racks are being carried out to the van. Grade II Frognal House, the mid-1700s survivor near the top, is the sort of listed kitchen we treat with care rather than caustic.

An AGA is a slow job done cold, so we book it as its own morning. The two-oven AGA clean at £143 covers the enamel, the hotplates and the oven boxes, all by hand with non-caustic products, no smell after. Racks, shelves, trays and side runners still lift out and soak in the heated tank in the van. The cavity, fan cover and door glass are degreased indoors, and the oven is heat-tested before we sign it off. A single takes about ninety minutes.
Parking on the hill
Parking is a genuine part of the day in Frognal. Almost all of it falls inside Camden's controlled zone, so on a weekday, roughly 8.30am to 6.30pm, the van takes a shared-use or pay-by-phone bay while shelves ferry to and fro. Finchley Road and Frognal Overground marks the low corner, and the streets climb steeply from there toward the Heath, which is why we ask which door before quoting the walk. All of NW3 is inside the ULEZ and our van is compliant. No call-out fee inside the North and South Circular.

My kitchen is in a Grade II listed house. Is your method safe for it?
Yes. The cavity work is by hand with non-caustic products, and nothing corrosive touches enamel or glass. Listed and period kitchens are most of what we see up here.
How long does a two-oven AGA take?
Plan for most of a morning. It has to be cold to start, so we agree a slot the day before and you switch it off the night before.
Can you get the van up to the top of Redington Road on a weekday?
We can, though the controlled bays fill early. Booking an off-peak slot or a weekend makes the parking simpler on the steeper streets.
Do you clean the range hob and extractor at the same visit?
Yes, most range jobs add the hob and the extractor hood. We price those on the phone so there are no surprises on the door.
