Belgrave Place, Nos 180 to 188 Rectory Lane, is a Georgian terrace built in 1737, and one of its houses still has the remains of a bake-house in the garden.

Foots Cray grew where the London to Maidstone road crossed the River Cray. A paper mill built in 1767 just north of the Seven Stars employed 110 adults and 60 children by 1851; it came down in 1929. Foots Cray Place, a Palladian villa built in 1754 for Bourchier Cleeve, was the big house of the district. Nicholas Vansittart, later Lord Bexley, bought it in the early 1820s, and it burned down in 1949. Its stable block survives on Rectory Lane, and much of the grounds are now Foots Cray Meadows.
